Registration

Your advisor will provide you with a pin number to access online registration for Bluefield State University, or you may prepare a registration form and deliver it to the Registrar’s office.

Graduation

The Registrar’s Office certifies that all students have fulfilled their graduation requirements.

Commencement Ceremony

Bluefield State University holds a single formal graduation ceremony each spring. This ceremony is open to:

  • Students who graduated the previous summer and fall semester
  • Students who will complete their remaining graduation requirements in the spring and upcoming summer who are registered and paid for their final courses.

Degrees will be awarded after all final grades are submitted; diplomas will be available within four weeks upon completion to students who have successfully met all requirements.

President’s and Dean’s List

Bluefield State University students with a GPA of 3.8 or higher receive the honor of being listed on the President’s List each semester. Students with a GPA of 3.25 or better receive the honor of being listed on the Dean’s List. Click below to view the President’s and Dean’s List for the previous semester. To be eligible for the President’s or Dean’s List, a student must be degree-seeking and carry a minimum of 12 semester hours at Bluefield State College (excluding developmental level courses).

Unofficial Transcript Request

Unofficial Transcripts are available to you at no cost. Requests can be submitted through the Registrar’s Office; a photo ID is required with the request. Current Students can access an unofficial copy of their transcript through the myBSU portal under Student Resources.

Academic Forgiveness

Students with a four-year gap in enrollment may apply for Academic Forgiveness. All “D” and “F” grades identified by the student will be disregarded in the calculation of the grade point average.
