All Bluefield State students, faculty, and staff are able to ride the Bluefield Area Transit city bus systems without having to pay a fare. The bus system serves BSU with campus service frequently between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
There is no Campus Shuttle service on weekends or University holidays. Additional transportation will be provided to numerous athletic and student events throughout each semester.

There are currently two (2) drop-off and pick-up locations on campus. Bus Stop Shelter #1 is located in the parking lot area adjacent to Dickason Hall. Bus Stop Shelter #2 is located on the campus loop between Shott & Mahood Halls. Consult the campus map for details. Students can request other campus drop-off locations with the transit staff as needed.

Greyhound bus travel has a stop in Bluefield, West Virginia, a short distance from campus. The address of the Bluefield Transit Center is 1400 Bluefield Avenue, Bluefield, WV 24701. Students needing airport travel can take the Greyhound bus from Bluefield to several locations including Roanoke, VA, Charleston, WV, and Charlotte, NC (with additional arrangements from those Transit Centers to the desired airports).
Students traveling to the Charlotte Transit Center can ride a shuttle bus from that location to and from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (the bus travels to and from the Airport every 10-15 minutes 24/7). Students can telephone the Charlotte Airport Shuttle Bus at (704) 359-4038.
