Fulbright Scholar Dr. Manef Bourogaoui of Tunisia to visit Bluefield State College and area high schools virtually
Fulbright Scholar from Tunisia Dr. Manef Bourogaoui who is currently engaged in research at Virginia Tech’s Capital Campus will deliver virtual presentations about Tunisia Today—Culture, Traditions, and People and PV System Integration and Monitoring in Buildings as part of BSC Office of International Initiatives’ Windows on the World Series.
On Monday, November 16 from 10:00-10:50 a.m., Dr. Bourogaoui will discuss “PV Systems Integration and Monitoring in Buildings” with students of Electrical Engineering faculty James Pruett, Roy Pruett, and Dr. Shannon Bowling.
On November 17, from 9:30-10:45 am, Dr. Bourogaoui will discuss “Tunisia Today—Culture, Traditions, and People” with students of Diversity and Education professor Dr. Amanda Banks.

Currently, Fulbright Research Scholar at Virginia Tech’s Capital Campus in Arlington, Virginia, Dr. Manef Bourogaoui’s areas of research includes renewable energy and smart grid systems, power electronics, electric machine, electrotechnics and electronics, electric circuits, embedded systems, and signal processing. His main projects include: studying, analyzing, and designing power electronics systems; controlling power electronics systems using embedded systems; analyzing, assessing, and forecasting the renewable energy penetration impact into the grid, and then mitigating the impact using sophisticated control techniques. Dr. Bourogaoui’s has been published in renowned peer-reviewed international journals and he has shared his findings at various conferences in Europe and North Africa.
