High school seniors and their families can receive assistance in filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) during West Virginia FAFSA Day at Bluefield State University’s William B. Robertson Library on February 1, 2024 11 am-5 pm.

“Completing the FAFSA is the most important step in finding money for college,” noted BSU Financial Aid Director Tammy Martin.  “Every student wanting to receive federal, state, and institutional financial aid toward their college degree is encouraged to attend this free workshop.”

Prior to this event, each student and parent will need to obtain a FSA User ID, available at www.studentaid.gov  Additionally, students and families need to bring their 2022 Federal Income Tax Return with schedules. Students are encouraged to bring their laptops, although computers will be available if needed.

Students planning to pursue a postsecondary education in the fall of 2024 should complete the FAFSA before May 1 to be considered for the West Virginia Higher Education Grant.  To be considered for the Promise Scholarship, students must submit the FAFSA and the Promise application before May 1.
