Dr. Nancy Adam-Turner, BSC Digital Librarian, is Lead Author in a Chapter Included in International Scholarly Publication
Bluefield State College Digital Librarian Dr. Nancy Adam-Turner is the lead author in a peer-reviewed chapter that has been included in Higher Education Teaching and Learning (HETL), an annual internationally circulated scholarly publication.
The chapter is titled, “A Study on Digital Literacy Perspectives When Designing Library Learning for Rural Community Colleges in the Connected Age.” Dr. Adam-Turner worked with co-authors and Old Dominion University faculty members Dr. Dana Burnett and Dr. Gail Dickinson to produce the chapter, which provides real faculty/librarian commentaries regarding strategies for developing digital learning and contemporary digital library resources.
“My background is in digital literacy and learning,” Dr. Adam-Turner explained. “Missing in the body of information is research about digital learning in junior college and rural settings. Our hope is that our chapter’s research will confirm the benefit of collaboration between librarians and faculty in using digital learning for students to empower them to be more successful in achieving learning objectives and outcomes.”
The published work of Dr. Adam-Turner and co-authors Dr. Burnett and Dr. Dickason will be included in “Designing Effective Library Learning Spaces in Higher Education,” HETL volume 29.
