He was promoted to Chair of the Department of Humanities in June, following his participation in the American Comparative Literature Association’s annual meeting at Georgetown University. At the ACLA meeting, he chaired a panel and presented research with Prof. Shoshanna Knapp from Virginia Polytechnical Institute on the topic of “Neoliberalism and Utopia.” The panel was invited to propose a special issue to the Journal of Utopian Studies.
In July, Dr. Connolly was nominated to participate in a symposium at the New School for Social Research’s Institute for Critical Social Inquiry with Henry A. and Louise Loeb Professor of Political and Social Science Nancy Frasier.
In October, he accepted an invitation to present research entitled “The Liberal Utopia and the Marketplace of States” on the panel “Libertarian Utopias” at the Utopian Studies Society Conference at Michigan State University.
