Poet, Author, Entrepreneur Charisse Carney-Nunes Speaks to Capacity Audience during Women’s History Month Luncheon at Bluefield State College
Noted writer, poet, and social entrepreneur Charisse Carney-Nunes spoke to an Hebert Gallery capacity audience during Bluefield State College’s 2019 Women’s History Month Luncheon.
Ms. Carney-Nunes’ presentation included selected poetry from her published books as well as a multidimensional look at the lives of African-American women in American history. Her speech was titled, “Escape to Freedom: Harriet Tubman, Lauryn Hill, Intersectionality and the Long Road to Black Girl Magic.”
