Bluefield Daily Telegraph Reporter Charlie Booth Provides Insight into Personal Essay Writing During Presentation at Bluefield State College
Veteran Bluefield Daily Telegraph reporter Charlie Boothe shared insights and advice about writing personal essays during a presentation at Bluefield State College today.
Boothe, who has worked at newspapers from Richmond to Tazewell County, is completing work on his first novel. At BSC, he talked to students in Dr. Sudhakar Jamkhandi’s “Advanced Composition” class and Dr. Bonnie Reese’s “Communications” class.
“Write about what you know,” he advised students. “Write in a manner that will grab your audience’s attention, and consider your audience.”
