Bluefield State College to become first Higher Ed Institution to offer Nursing Career Pathways
Representatives from the West Virginia Department of Education and Bluefield State College signed a Memorandum of Understanding to solidify nursing career pathways for West Virginia students. The MOU outlines the necessary steps to be taken by Career Technical Education (CTE) students to launch their nursing and health science careers quickly with the skills needed by the industry. Career Pathways focus on cost-saving, time-shortened plans to specific occupations through a partnership between CTE centers and higher education institutions throughout the state.
The signing took place on June 7, 2017 at the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center Auditorium in Beckley, WV with Dr. Marsha Krotseng, President and Dr. Angela Lambert, Provost, as well as a number of administrators, educators and students from area career and technical centers.
