Students admitted participate in New Student Orientation on one of the following days:
- June 12, 2026
- June 27, 2026
- July 10, 2026 (Beckley)
- July 18, 2026
- July 25, 2026
Please check back on March 20 when registration for New Student Orientation 2026 opens.
You will take care of the business of becoming a member of the Bluefield State community, including learning about academic requirements, meeting with an academic advisor, registering for your fall classes, receiving your Student ID, and learning about your new college.

Veteran Students
Thank you for your service! We want to make sure that your transition to Bluefield State is as positive and productive as possible, and that all begins with orientation. Please contact Veteran’s Assistance before your first semester starts.
If you will be residing on campus during the semester, be sure to complete the housing application. There are many on and off-campus housing options to suit your needs. For more information, visit the Office of Housing & Residence Life website.

Before Arriving
Before arriving on campus, please make sure you have completed the following:
- Submit your required health documents. For specific immunization requests, go here.
- Living on campus? Apply for housing as soon as possible to ensure you obtain a room. For questions, check with the Office of Housing & Residence Life at (304) 327-4088.
- Check with the Financial Aid Office to ensure all your paperwork is completed. Contact them at (304) 327-4020.
- Check with the Business Office to ensure all necessary documents are complete. Contact them at (304) 327-4450.
