The State of West Virginia recommends the following immunizations for all college and university students (per the WV Bureau for Public Health):

  • MMR: (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (German Measles)
  • Varicella: (Chicken Pox), Diphtheria, Pertussis: (Tdap,Td)
  • Polio: Inactivated (IPV) Or Oral Poliovirus (OPV – no longer available in US)
  • Meningococcal vaccine: (MCV4) (Quadrivalent)
     

Students can submit their immunization records to the Student Health Center via email at bsuhealthcenter@bluefieldstate.edu or mail the records to: Student Health Center, 210 Ned E. Shott Physical Education Building, 219 Rock Street, Bluefield, WV 24701.

The Office of Housing & Residence Life requires that new incoming students will not be permitted to move into a Bluefield State University residence hall without documented proof of immunizations. For more information, contact Student Health Services at bsuhealthcenter@bluefieldstate.edu.
