Program Overview

The elementary and middle education program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the principles of teaching and learning. As a teacher education student, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through our partnerships with local schools. Through field experience and student teaching, you can apply what you have learned in the classroom to real-world teaching situations.

Eligibility Requirements

By fulfilling these requirements, candidates for this degree will be well-prepared to pursue teaching careers in elementary or middle schools.

  • Three areas of study: General Studies, Professional Education, and Elementary Education
  • A minimum of 120 semester hours of credit in approved subjects
  • An overall grade point average of 2.75 or better
