BSC Faculty Member a Panelist for #WVSolutions Seekers Conference
More than 200 students from southern West Virginia high schools, colleges and training and training programs participated in the second virtual #WVSolutions Seekers Student Leadership Conference. Bluefield State College faculty member Dr. Michelle Taylor joined other professional panelists as they described how students can enjoy successful and fulfilling careers in West Virginia.
Dr. Taylor (Department Chair & Associate Professor of Business at BSC’s W. Paul Cole, Jr. School of Business) noted, “The students met several West Virginia business and legislative leaders. They also learned about our state, made connections that can last a lifetime, and gained insight on how to prioritize for themselves and their community.”
The conference was one of six ongoing projects of the Alliance for the Economic Developments of Southern West Virginia. The Alliance is a collaboration among the 11 higher education institutions in southern West Virginia. The goal—to foster an environment for economic growth.
“We talked to them about the abundant opportunities available in our state. Our message was that everything these students hope to achieve can be accomplished in West Virginia.”
