Online New Student Orientation is an optional program for students not attending the Bluefield State main campus. Students need to complete the following steps and procedures to register for classes:

  1. Receive admission to Bluefield State from the Office of Admissions. Once admitted, students will receive (usually within 24 hours of admission) a Student Identification Number and official email address.
  2. Email the Dean of Students Office to gain approval for completing the Online Orientation program at
  3. Once you receive approval via email, watch the Online Program here.
  4. Once you have completed viewing the Program, take the Online Program Quiz. Make sure you submit after answering all questions.
  5. Students will be notified via email if they pass the Online Program Quiz and will then receive an email with additional directions to register for classes. If a student fails the Online Program Quiz, you will be notified to retake the Quiz.
