Fulbright Scholar Dr. Shashi Poddar of India to visit Bluefield State College virtually
Fulbright Scholar from India Dr Shashi Poddar of India will deliver virtual presentations about Vision aided navigation for autonomous vehicles and North Indian Cultures, Traditions, and People to students of Bluefield State College’s School of STEM and the School of Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences on February 15 and 16, 2021.
On Monday, February 15 at 9 am, Dr. Poddar will share his virtual presentation on “Vision aided navigation for autonomous vehicles” with students of Engineering Technology and Computer Science in classes taught by Roy Pruett, James Pruett, Dr. Jeff Bolton, Dr. Bill Bennett, and Dr. Shannon Bowling.
On Tuesday, February 16 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., Dr. Poddar will share his virtual presentation on “North Indian Cultures, Traditions, and People” with Dr. Debjani Chakrabarti’s Sociology students and Dr. Amanda Banks’ Education students.
Currently a Fulbright Research Scholar at the University at Buffalo, SUNY Graduate School, Dr. Poddar’s research is on Artificial Intelligence Aided Fusion of Visual-Inertial Sensors for Navigation of Autonomous Vehicles. He is published in numerous international scholarly journals and has shared his research at IEEE international conferences. He is a frequent reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, IET Image activities Processing, Journal of Applied Physics, Pattern Recognition Letters, Aerospace Science and Technology, IOP - Measurement Science and Technology, Elsevier – Measurement,
Optics Express, and IEEE International Conference on Image Processing.
