Rides for BSU’s international students (including Honors Scholars) between Bluefield – Airport of arrival / departure – Bluefield are provided as a courtesy and are provided ONLY if a driver is available.
PRIOR TO PURCHASING AN AIRLINE TICKET, INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AND HONORS SCHOLARS MUST CONTACT THE APPLICABLE OFFICE TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE AVAILABILITY OF A RIDE.
International student-athletes MUST call the Athletics department at 304-327-4190.
Non-athlete international students, including Honors Scholars, MUST call 304-327-4015.
ONCE THE APPLICABLE OFFICES CONFIRM THE AVAILABILITY OF A DRIVER, THE ONLINE REQUEST A RIDE FORM SHOULD BE COMPLETED.
Rides BETWEEN Bluefield-(Charleston, WV/Roanoke/Charlotte airports ONLY)-Bluefield will be provided to international students and Honors Scholars whose departures and arrivals are between 11 am – 5 pm.
No rides will be provided for arrivals and departures beyond the time period indicated– 11 am and 5 pm. It will be the students’ responsibility to arrange for transfers between Bluefield-airport-Bluefield if ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURES ARE before 11 am or ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURES ARE after 5 pm.
IF NO DRIVER IS AVAILABLE, it is the students’ responsibility to arrange for transfers between Bluefield – Airport of arrival / departure – Bluefield.
IMPORTANT: Rides will be provided ONLY before the first day of classes and after the last final exam day. Exceptions will be made for international students whose visas are not issued before the first day of classes or because a medical emergency prevents their arrival before the first day of classes.
Request a Ride forms should be completed by international student-athletes and non-athlete tuition-paying international students (including Honors Scholars) for the beginning and end of each semester.
Honors Scholars’ Requests for Rides to participate in conferences and Honors College-related activities will be accommodated, subject to the availability of staff drivers.

Non-student athletes’ (i.e., tuition-paying international students and Honors Scholars) requests will be received electronically by the Office of International Initiatives (OII) and will be addressed by the Office of International Initiatives.
International Student-athletes: Completed forms will be sent electronically to the Athletics Department, and requests for rides will be fulfilled exclusively by the Athletics Department.
