The U.S. Department of Education requires BSC’s Financial Aid Office to determine if you have legitimate reasons for your enrollment in multiple institutions. The findings of this office will determine if you may continue to receive Title IV aid, such as Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loans.
You are required to submit official academic transcripts to Bluefield State’s Office of Admission from all colleges where you enrolled and received a Pell Grant during the academic years of 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. If you cannot remember which schools you attended and received Pell Grant from, you may assess the information at http://www.nslds.ed.gov. Once logged in, please print a copy of your Pell History and attach to this form. If you need assistance please contact this office.
You must submit this form to the Financial Aid Office after all transcripts form all colleges listed above have been submitted to the BSC’s Admission Office. (You do not need to request a BSC Transcript). This office will review your academic transcripts to determine whether academic credit was earned during the terms you received a Pell Grant.
After all documentation has been submitted, a decision will be made to determine if you will be eligible to continue to receive Title IV funding.
This office has the authority to deny Title IV financial aid according to section 484(a)(4)(A) of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, which requires the student to sign a statement of Education Purpose. By signing the FAFSA, you certified you would use Title IV financial aid received only to meet educational costs.
