In addition to the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds Application, any student who is a citizen of the United States and who has experienced a significant reduction in household income because of a job loss/furlough, reduction of pay, medical expenses, or death of a family member resulting in loss of income, may request a Professional Judgment from the Financial Aid Office. The purpose of a Professional Judgment is to determine if the student’s Expected Family Contribution can be adjusted because of change(s) in family circumstances for any of the reasons listed above. To be considered for a Professional Judgment, the student must have submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2021-2022 academic year. The Professional Judgment Form can be found here. Each student must submit the completed form and supporting documentation to the Financial Aid Office. If the student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is already $0, a Professional Judgment will not be beneficial.
