Academic Success Center
The computer lab contains 20 personal computers and is open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. The lab is always monitored by a computer-knowledgeable student. The computer lab equipment is restricted to ASC participants only.
Academic Recovery
The Academic Recovery lab contains 5 personal computers and is for students who have below a 2.0 GPA in general, or for students who do not have the GPA for selective admissions into Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or Education. Computers are for Academic Recovery Student only.
Transitional Studies Emporium
The TSE (Transitional Studies Emporium) is a special use lab that contains 24 Virtual Machines to be used by any student who is currently enrolled in a Developmental Math and/or Developmental English course. This lab is open from 8am to 4pm Monday-Friday during the Fall and Spring semesters. The lab is equipped with a Smart Board and is also used as a classroom for Developmental Math and Developmental English courses.
Computer Science Senior Lab
The Computer Science Senior Lab houses 2 high powered personal computers and VR development equipment. It is used for software programming and development for upper-level Computer Science courses. It is reserved for Computer Science students only.
Civil Engineering Technology
The Civil Engineering Technology lab houses 4 personal computers with the latest Civil Engineering software products including AutoCAD, Civil 3-D, Carlson Surveying Software, ArcGIS, and RocScience. The lab also has large-format printing capabilities. This lab is restricted to Civil Engineering students.
Nursing and Allied Health
The Nursing and Allied Health Lab contains 26 personal computers and is reserved for testing of School of Nursing and Allied Health students.
AutoCAD Lab
The AutoCAD lab houses 24 personal computers with the latest Engineering software products including AutoCAD, Civil 3-D, Inventor, Carlson Surveying Software, Cura, and Solidworks. The lab also has large-format printing capabilities. Although available to those interested, this lab is most used by students enrolled in Engineering Technology/Computer Science programs at BSU.
AutoCAD Lab hours are generally Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm or scheduled as needed.
Testing Center
The Testing Center at Bluefield State University provides a secure, quiet place for students to take proctored tests associated with their online course requirements. More information can be found on the BSU Testing Center page.
