About President Deeb

Cathy Deeb serves as Acting President of Bluefield State University, bringing more than 33 years of experience in business, management, and financial oversight to the role.

A graduate of Bluefield State, Deeb has built her career through the ownership and operation of several businesses. Her experience includes managing budgets and payroll, overseeing financial operations, and guiding major projects from planning through completion. She brings this practical, hands-on leadership experience, along with a deep commitment to her alma mater, to the responsibility of guiding Bluefield State through this period of transition. Deeb has also served the University as co-chair of the Bluefield State University Board of Governors. A resident of Bluefield, West Virginia, she is the mother of three adult children
