Humanities Strategic Public Relations and Communication


The Humanities Public Relations concentration of study includes Management, Marketing, Communications, and upper-level writing courses to provide graduates with a comprehensive, functional education focused on the skills and knowledge needed to excel in public relations positions involving traditional media as well as emerging digital platforms. Graduates will be versed in projecting and protecting the image of their entities, internal communications, writing speeches, arranging interviews, and maintaining other forms of public contact to assist the entity’s leadership.

Media relations, communication strategies for diversity, equity, and inclusion, planning content marketing, handling crisis communications, digital communications, and reputation management will form the core subjects of study within existing courses. Internships will be required of students, placements for which will be implemented by the program advisors.

  • Completed general studies curriculum
  • At least 62 credits in COMM courses
  • Aggregate 2.0 GPA in all courses
