Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan

Bluefield State College is pleased to announce the Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan, providing free tuition to qualified students enrolled in one of more than one dozen high-skilled, high-wage, high-demand programs. The Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan applies to incoming freshmen, current students, and transfer students. Recipients can use this award to cover the cost of tuition for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Recipients can receive up to $1,500 in cash beyond their Pell Grant for use in transportation, purchasing books, and other expenses related to attending school.

To qualify, a student must:

  • Be a West Virginia resident
  • Be Pell grant recipient
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15
  • Maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
  • Demonstrate continued progress toward a degree
