Scott Pitt has been with the Student Support Services staff for 11 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art from Concord University. As an Educational Outreach Counselor, Scott is passionate about creating inclusive community and networks for the participants of SSS, where they can build and create lifelong support and resources. In addition, he leads and participates in committees on BSC campus in order to promote diversity and inclusion for all students.

Catherine Harrison has been the Student Support Services Counselor for 2 years. She is an alumnus of the BSC Student Support Services program, both as a participant and a tutor/mentor. Catherine is a BSC Valedictorian, Class of 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with a concentration in psychology and a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College. In her role, Catherine has the opportunity to meet and interact with every single participant. Her focus is to assist students in reaching their individual academic and personal goals. Mrs. Harrison is passionate about giving back to the program that helped her in her own success.

Helena Taylor is an alum of Bluefield State College and a former participant and tutor/mentor in SSS. She graduated BSC Cum Laude with a B.S. Early/Middle Education degree with a 5-9 Mathematics Specialization. After three years of working as a public school substitute teacher, Helena joined the BSC Student Support Services staff as an Educational Outreach Counselor. She works closely with the peer tutors and the rest of the SSS staff to coordinate the tutoring program. In addition, she is passionate about her involvement in student body activities and events in her role as student organization advisor. She feels honored and blessed to be able to work in the same department that was instrumental in her college success.

Richelle Davis joined the Student Support Services staff in 2014. She is a non-traditional student having attended college at a young age and returning later in life to complete her degree program. Ms. Davis graduated Cum Laude in the Bluefield State College Regents Bachelor of Arts Degree Program with Concentrations in Sociology and History. She also holds the distinction of being the first student to graduate from BSC with a Minor in African American History and Culture. Ms. Davis is also a very passionate advocate for Autism Awareness.
