A Resident Assistant (RA) is a para-professional undergraduate student staff member who lives in on-campus
housing
and
serves as a resource for the students in their assigned area of responsibility. RAs play a key role in
creating an
environment for students that is conducive to academic, personal, and social growth and development. An RA
is a
resource, mentor, community leader, and role model within the Residence Life community. They are trained to
act in
situations that may develop within the on-campus housing program and enforce community standards conducive
to
academic
success. There are always RA’s on duty on campus between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. each night.
