She returned to her home state to pursue a master’s degree and quickly found her place at Bluefield State College in 2009. Dr. Taylor graduated from WVU (a second time) with an MBA in 2011 and began teaching as an Adjunct Instructor (all while working full-time as an admissions counselor and college cheer coach). In 2014, Dr. Taylor joined the full-time faculty at Bluefield State University’s Cole College of Business. She served three years as the Department Chair for the College of Business and is a tenured Associate Professor of Business. In May 2020, she completed her doctorate in Higher Education and Organizational Change at Benedictine University with research focused on the needs and motivations of minority students. In 2022, she and her husband co-founded Taylor’s Accounting and Consulting, PLLC; this professional company offers CPA and consulting services to businesses in West Virginia and nationwide. Dr. Taylor is also an active I-Corps instructor for the interior northeast, aiding start-up businesses in bringing their products/services to market.
