Angela’s career began in Radiologic Technology with her primary work being in Sonography.  She became an adjunct faculty member at Bluefield State University in the early 1990s and soon thereafter accepted a full-time position as an instructor of Radiologic Technology.  She served in that capacity until assuming the role of clinic coordinator and instructor remaining in the Radiologic Technology program for 20 years.  Angela currently serves as the Dean of the College of Health Science (2011 – present).  Additionally, her background includes serving as the Interim Provost for 2 academic years (2016 – 2018). 

Angela has been recognized as an administrator of the year and has also been a recipient of the Student Government’s Blue Flame and Blue Star awards.  In 2020, Angela was awarded the Student Government’s highest recognized award, the Cardwell Cup which is awarded for outstanding leadership, and providing a student-first approach.    

Angela teaches general courses in Health and Medical Terminology as well as Ethics and Research courses in the Imaging Science program.  Her passion is in Imaging Science as well as the promotion of higher education across the board.  She serves on the Mercer County Technical Education board and is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the West Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologist and is a registered Radiographer.  

When not working in higher education Angela’s most important role is that of wife, mother of 3 and grammie of two beautiful grandchildren.
