Project Success Internship Feature: B-State Student Michael Acheampong

Bluefield State University student Michael Acheampong’s career goal is to work as a software engineer.  Acheampong, originally from Kumasi, Ghana, completed a BSU Project Success paid internship as an Information Technology technician in the BSU Computer Science Department.

Under the supervision of the University’s Network Administrator, Chris Shrader, the Bluefield State Computer Science major gained valuable experience in hardware and software troubleshooting, making software updates on computers, and installing new system applications. 

“This experience enabled me to develop insight into platforms such as Windows Server, wireless presentation software, and security surveillance software,” Achaempong said.  “My internship has strengthened my commitment to become a software engineer.
