Chapuchi Bobbo Ahiagble, a ninth-generation Master Weaver from Denu, Ghana presented an educational lecture at Bluefield State College on October 27. An engaged audience of Bluefield State College students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members learned about the ancient and traditional form of Ghanaian Ewe weaving during the program, and many remained afterward to view his cloth artwork that was on display in the Hebert Gallery, Harris-Jefferson Student Center.
The Ewe Kente cloth artwork that he and his father have created is now on display at museums throughout the United States.
Chapuchi has lectured and demonstrated at the Oakland (CA) Museum, the Detroit Museum of Art at several institutions of higher education and k-12 schools throughout the U.S.
