Education Options Now Available for BSC Rad Tech Grads & Working Technologists

Bluefield State College Radiologic Technology graduates and local working technologists can now choose from additional modality options when expanding their education beyond radiography.

“Through a new agreement between Bluefield State and Chattanooga State Community College, our students can obtain additional certification in the modalities of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, and Computed Tomography. This agreement is in addition to the current Nuclear Medicine modality,” explained Melissa Haye, BSC Associate Professor of Radiologic Technology.

“The accord also enables local working technologists to continue their education and obtain additional certification in these modalities, and aids in their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in imaging sciences,” she continued.

The BSC-ChSCC agreement creates an opportunity for Bluefield State’s Imaging Science program to grow by providing availability to more education specialization choices in the imaging field, according to Haye.
