BSC Student Shomonique Hankins to Receive Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. State Holiday Commission’s “Living the Dream Scholarship Award”

 

Bluefield State College student Shomonique Hankins has been selected to receive the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. State Holiday Commission’s 2020 “Living the Dream Scholarship Award.”  

Ms. Monique has been active in a variety of BSC academic and student volunteer organizations.  During the Fall 2019 Semester, she presented her biomedical research work during the Southeast Regional IdeA Conference in Louisville, KY and at the American Society for Microbiology Conference in Anaheim, CA. 

The “Living the Dream Awards” salute individuals and organizations from West Virginia who live by the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and who continue his work today.  She will be recognized on January 20 at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Charleston, WV during an ecumenical service in celebration of Dr. King’s legacy.
