The Bluefield State College chapter of Gamma Beta Phi received the National Service Project Award, and BSC Gamma chapter advisor Helena Taylor was elected as an Advisor Member on Gamma's National Executive Committee, during Gamma Beta Phi's national conference. BSC Gamma Beta Phi Chapter and Advisor Honored at Gamma’s National Convention

 

The Bluefield State College Chapter of Gamma Beta Phi attended the recent national conference in Hilton Head, SC.  This biennial event provides advisors information on how to run the chapters, ideas for service, and how to make the chapter more active.  Student members are also provided learning opportunities for service, scholarship and character building. 

 

During the conference participants prepared items for a children’s center as well as a local animal shelter.  Gamma Beta Phi awards chapters who have shown dedication in areas of service.  The Bluefield State College Chapter of Gamma Beta Phi attended the recent national conference in Hilton Head, SC.  The National Service Project award was a banner for the chapter to keep as well as a $150.00 monetary donation to an organization chosen by the chapter.  The members chose to donate the $150.00 the WV Alzheimer’s Association. 

 

The advisor for the Bluefield State Gamma Beta Phi chapter, Ms. Helena Taylor, was elected to serve as Advisor Member on the 2020-2022 National Executive Committee.  Gamma Beta Phi’s mission includes scholarship, service and character.  The Bluefield State chapter continues to be active in each area.  The chapter is currently working on service projects in the area of mental health.  Look for upcoming events and plan to attend these outreach projects.
