BSC Commemorates National Rural Health Day

National Rural Health Day, celebrated today (November 19, 2020), holds special significance for Bluefield State College.  Today, we salute the efforts of everyone serving the health needs of an estimated 57 million people in rural settings across the country.

The majority of students graduating from Bluefield State College’s Associate and Baccalaureate Nursing programs move into careers in rural health settings and are on the front line health professionals fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sandra Wynn, Director of BSC’s Associate Degree Nursing program, is also a member of the West Virginia Rural Health Association Board of Directors.  On National Rural Health Day, Professor Wynn addresses the important role BSC Allied Health Science faculty and students play in delivering health care in a rural setting:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAyX6Jj1lRs
