The College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest school within Bluefield State, serving virtually all of our students.

We offer Baccalaureate degrees in Elementary and Middle Education, Humanities, Criminal Justice Administration, Applied Science and Social Science.

You can also select from a broad range of minors including African American History, Criminal Justice, History, Humanities, International Studies, Political Science, Pre-law, Psychology, and Sociology.


A Bluefield State degree is a pathway towards multiple career options. It is also a gateway to professional degrees in medicine, law, administration among many.

Smaller classes and faculty mentoring are hallmarks of a Bluefield State education.
