Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
"True belonging is born of relationships not only to one another but to a place of shared responsibilities and benefits. We love not so much what we have acquired as what we have made and whom we have made it with."--Robert Finch, Author/Naturalist from West Virginia
Welcome to the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (OEDI) of Bluefield State College. OEDI is committed to and advances the mission and vision of the College and is a champion of its Core Values of Excellence, Community, Diversity, and Growth. This office works in collaboration with campus and community partners in fostering a robust educational environment that supports critical thinking, an understanding of diverse views and values, encourages free inquiry, and welcomes experiences designed to expand the scope and experiences of students and community members. We are committed to building an educational experience where the understanding of self and others are a valued part of campus life.
The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion promotes inclusive excellence through a commitment to institutional fairness and equality, non-discriminatory practices, and by celebrating the strengths and achievements of our multicultural community.
Further, the office seeks to enhance the campus community by supporting and promoting the many programs, initiatives, and activities designed to create a robust, exciting, and engaging environment where those from near and far find a place for their unique cultures, traditions, thoughts, talents, and skills.
You are invited to contribute to the Bluefield State Experience through your involvement, engagement, and the promotion of Bluefield State College. Please visit our office or contact us.
