Mission
The primary mission of the Office of International Initiatives, internationalization of the campus, is manifested through two goals:
- International student recruitment and retention, and
- Internationalization of the majors, core curricula and foreign language programs to better prepare West Virginia students for global competency
This office manifests aspects of the following HEPC Master Planning Areas indicated in the College's Strategic Plan, 2008-2013:

The Office of International Initiatives plays a vital role in realizing the College's Strategic Plan, 2007-2013, and is responsible for attaining the following Measures:
Measure: Number of minority and international students
Measure: Increased awareness of activities with community participation or sponsorship
Measure: Strong collaborative agreements with agencies and educational entities
Measure: Active faculty, staff, and student participation in campus, community, public, and
professional organizations
Measure: Number of required courses addressing diversity and international
issues/affairs
Measure: Increase number of high quality minority and/or international employee applicants to
promote opportunities for increasing minority and/or international employees
Measure: Number of library resources that represent diversity issues and international and area
