Types of Admissions

First Time Freshman: a student who has earned a high school diploma or GED and has never attended college.

Transfer Student: a student who has graduated from high school or secondary school and completed some college courses at another institution and wants to attend BSC.

Former Student: a student who has previously attended Bluefield State College but has been absent from the college for one (1) semester or more.

Special (Non-Matriculating) Student: a student who wants to take baccalaureate courses but does not intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree yet; must submit an application every semester.

Transient Student: a student who wants to take one or two classes from BSC while attending another institution; must submit an application every semester.

Provisional Student: a student who wants to take college classes while still in high school.

International Student:a student who is not a citizen of the United States and would like to attend BSC.
