Worsham to Speak at National Historical Group Meeting
The national meeting of the Descendants of the Veterans of the Mexican War later this year will feature as its keynote speaker James Worsham, adjunct history instructor at Bluefield State College. Worsham has conducted research for his doctoral dissertation on Capt. Sam Walker, a well-known personality during the Mexican War, and a member of the "Mounted Rifles." This annual meeting will be conducted in San Antonio, TX, where Walker is buried. Additionally, The Journal of the Mexican War will feature an article in its Fall 1997 issue, written by Worsham and based upon his research at the National Archives involving the "Mounted Rifles."
