Dr. Patricia Mulvey, Professor of History at Bluefield State College, has been selected to be a "Coolidge Fellow" at the 1997 Association for Religion and Intellectual Life (ARIL) Research Colloquium, July 6-August 1 at Columbia University.

The BSC history professor will be one of 20 Coolidge Fellows, selected on a competitive grant basis, to take part in the colloquium. ARIL conducts research colloquia at selected majo research universities each summer.

Her presentation at the research colloquium will be "Afro-Brazilian Brotherhoods: Quest for Identity and Community."
