Dr. Peggy Johnson, BSC Academic Administrator, To Serve as “Expert Consultant” for University of Pennsylvania NIH Grant

(Bluefield)—Dr. Peggy Johnson, Dean of the W. Paul Cole, Jr. School of Business at Bluefield State College, has accepted an invitation from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing to serve as an "Expert Consultant" on a National Institute of Health grant.
Dean Johnson, who also serves as Director of BSC's Health Services Management program, will work within a structure that includes consultant teams of physicians, nurses, social workers, and physical therapists to review case summaries on an interactive website to determine post-acute care referrals.
In June, Dean Johnson, was a featured presenter at the New Frontier in Aging Conference at West Virginia University. Additionally, she co-authored a scholarly paper that was presented at the Southwest Texas Academy of Medicine annual meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Johnson stated that her current research interests include Eldercare and the impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act on access to care.
