(Bluefield)—Bluefield State College nursing program students administered flu shots, free of charge, to 500 area residents during the 2011 AutumnFest celebration in Princeton. The community service initiative was a collaborative effort involving Princeton Community Hospital and the first-year students in BSC's Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program.

Sandra Wynn, Director of BSC's AND Program observed that the effort benefited all parties involved. "This is a way for the College to collaborate with our clinical facility partners to provide excellent health care to the citizens of the area, and complements our students' educational goals of learning health promotion strategies and augmenting clinical nursing skills," she added.
