(Bluefield)—The "Healing Hands" Baccalaureate Nursing Club at Bluefield State College is lending a "helping hand" to an area teen battling health issues. Funds raised from the "Care of the Acutely Ill Geriatric Patient" workshop will assist in defraying treatment costs for Ryan Whitt, a 19 year old battling an aggressive bone cancer. His mother, Cathy Seay, is an area nurse and is a BSC alumna. The workshop will be offered on Monday, October, 24, 2011, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Tierney Conference Center/Dickason Hall, on the Bluefield State College campus.
Betty Nash, RN, MSN, CCRN, will be the workshop presenter. An Associate Professor of Nursing at BSC, Nash has more than 30 years' experience in critical care and education. Three contact hours will be awarded by BSC, which is approved by the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for RNs (#WV960044RN) and WVSBE for LPNs (#WVBPN:30).
Individuals/organizations interested in obtaining additional information are encouraged to contact Professor Nash by phone (304-327-4218) or e-mail (email@example.com). Registration fee is $15 per participants and checks payable to "Healing Hands" will be received at the door.
