Michelle Cofer Named Bluefield State's Cheerleading Coach

BLUEFIELD, W. Va. – Bluefield State College Athletic Director Terry Brown has announced the hiring of Michelle Cofer as the new Big Blues/Lady Blues Head Cheerleading Coach.
Cofer, a Princeton, W. Va. native has over 10 years of experience in cheerleading stemming from her time at Mercer Elementary School continuing through her interscholastic career at Princeton Senior High School where she was named a Top All-American Cheerleader by the National Cheerleading Association (NCA). Upon graduating from high school she was afforded the opportunity to work as a Cheer Coach for the Northeast Region of the U.S. with the NCA where she taught private and public camps for 3 years. Coupled with her cheerleading experience, Cofer boasts 12 years of experience as a competitive gymnast, where she competed for Beckley Gymnastics in Crab Orchard, W. Va.
“Cheer has always been a passion of mine and I truly look forward to working with the team at Bluefield State College. I am eager to pass on my extensive knowledge of the sport to these young women and men,” stated Cofer.
Cofer recently earned her M.B.A from West Virginia University where she was named a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. She obtained her B.A. in Foreign Language (French) from WVU in 2006. Cofer also currently works for the BSC Admissions staff, a position she has held for the past two years.
