(Bluefield)—A community roundtable dialogue, “Building Bridges Among Groups,” will be held at Bluefield State College. Interested individuals and groups representing a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds from throughout the region are invited to participate in this community multicultural dialogue, according to Dr. Sapphire Cureg, Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Bluefield State College. The discussion will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Tierney Center Conference Room in Dickason Hall.
“The intent of the discussion is to create an honest and equal space for sharing perspectives and experiences on changing demographics, changing attitudes, changing issues and needs that are taking place in our region,” Cureg explained. “Collectively, the perspectives shared at the meeting will be embedded into the overall BSC Office of Multicultural Affairs’ work with the campus and broader community culture and sustaining the diversity agenda over time.”
Individuals and organizations interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to contact Dr. Cureg (email@example.com 304-327-4512). The event will conclude at 7 p.m. and a light dinner will be available for participants. The program, which is funded through the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s Social Justice initiative, is offered free of charge and is open to the public.
