In an effort to provide a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere and better serve our students, visitors, faculty and staff, two Bluefield State College buildings are currently undergoing renovations.
Mahood Hall will be open to staff and students on August 15, 2011. However, you will need to be cautious of the surrounding environment. First, second and third floors will be open as scheduled for classes. The ground floor is still undergoing renovation and is closed to all students and visitors. ADA parking will be located on the East side of Mahood. Elevator access will be available by the latter part of the week of August 15. Should anyone need special accommodations prior to the elevator's availability, please call 304-327-4040.
Basic Science will be open on the ground level and third floor August 15; the second floor will be available August 16. ADA access will be located in the parking garage located underneath Basic Science. The first floor is closed to all students, visitors, faculty and staff. Classes originally scheduled for first floor have been relocated on campus, are identified in the schedule, and will be used for those classes until the first floor is available. Please be aware of and obey all signage located around the building. All foot traffic should follow the direction signs and utilize the steps located in the front of Basic Science.
During this semester, areas will be under construction in these two buildings as well as the surrounding campus. Please be cautious and follow all signage and safety postings. Any questions or suggestions please ask any staff member. You can also call the Office of Public Safety at 304-327-4180.
