John Cardwell Appointed to Higher Education Student Financial Aid Advisory Board

(Bluefield)—Bluefield State College administrator John Cardwell has been appointed to a three-year term as a member of the Higher Education Student Financial Aid Advisory Board. Cardwell, BSC’s Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, began his term on July 1.
The Advisory Board was reconstituted during the 2009 Regular Session of the West Virginia Legislature to provide financial aid expertise and policy guidance on matters related to federal, state, and private student financial aid resources and programs.
Cardwell has served on numerous state education committees and boards, including the Chancellor’s Adult Learning Task Force, the State Student Advisory Affairs Advisory Committee, and the State Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. He is also the West Virginia representative to the national ACT (American College Testing) organization.
“I consider it an honor to serve on the Higher Education Student Financial Aid Advisory Board,” Cardwell said, “and I look forward to the opportunity to work with so many talented leaders and policy-maker to assist current and future students.”
