BSC to Present “Trauma Update” Continuing Education Program for Area Nurses, April 1

(Bluefield)—Bluefield State College will host a continuing education program for area nurses on Wednesday, April 1, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Tierney Conference Room, Dickason Hall. The event, “Trauma Update,” is sponsored by the East River Mountain Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Deidra Pennington, MSN, RN, Trauma Outreach Coordinator at Carilion Roanoke Hospital, has designed a program that focuses upon how to care for the patient experiencing a traumatic event. Topics include, “Who Stays? Who Goes? The Nuts and Bolts About Trauma Centers,” “The Elderly Trauma Patient,” “Abdominal Hypertension,” “Intracranial Injuries: Bleeds” and “Potential Organ Donor Patients.”
A total of 6.9 contact hours will be awarded by BSC, which is approved by the WVSBN: RN/LPN as a contact provider. The cost for attendance and participation is $30/registrant and includes lunch. For more information, call 304-327-4218.
