(Bluefield)—The Blue Chicory Players at Bluefield State College will present the Jean-Paul Sartre play, “No Exit,” March 17-19 in the Basic Science Auditorium.
The existentialist French play was first performed in France just before the World War II liberation of Paris in May, 1944. It depicts the afterlife in which three deceased characters are punished by being locked in a room together for eternity, and it is the source of Sartre’s most famous quotation, “Hell is for other people.”
The Blue Chicory Players’ performances will take place on Thursday March 17, beginning at 10 a.m., with 7:30 p.m. performances on March 18-19. There is no admission charge. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Dr. Sharon Bebout-Carr (BSC Assistant Professor of Speech and the Blue Chicory Players’ director) by telephone at 304-327-4432 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
