BSC Model United Nations Team Earns Special Recognition at American Model U.N. International Conference

(Bluefield)—The Bluefield State College Model United Nations (MUN) student team earned several “Certificates of Accomplishment” at the recent American Model United Nations International Conference in Chicago, IL.

The annual conference attracted more than 1500 students, representing institutions of higher education from throughout the nation and world.  “Our students performed with exceptional skill throughout the conference,” observed John White, BSC Social Science faculty member and MUN advisor.  “We received “Certificates of Accomplishment for both our representation of, and position paper for, The Philippines, and for our representation of, and position paper for, Serbia.”  Darrell Malamisura, BSC Marketing faculty member and a former BSC MUN student participant, also accompanied the College’s student representatives to the conference.

The member BSC student team included Matthew Adkins (Secretary), Dusan Zivkovic (Secretary), Zackary Helton, Edward Smith, Crystal Haun, Saul N’Jie, Alex Estep, Nadine Lotz, Adriana Buitrago, Gregory Aiken, Essa Darboe, Guatam Sreeram, Sean Mullins, Shikhar Kapur, Lukas Held, Vlad Catlan, and Jesus Sanchez Arroyo.
