(Bluefield)—Bluefield State College's 2010 Radiologic Technology graduates who took the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification examination by June 30, 2010 have achieved a 100% passage rate. The BSC Radiologic Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). JRCERT is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the national agency for the accreditation of educational programs for the radiographer and radiation therapist, and is responsible for all accreditation actions.
BSC's 2010 RadTech graduates who passed the certification examination include: Andrea Becker, Rachel Butler, Taylor Cline, Jeff Cox, Terence Farley, Amy Grindstaff, Tonya Hilling, Kayla Horton, Kayla Lusk, Megan Nichols, Kristen Nipper, Erin Reed, Andrea Smith, Tonya Scruggs, Jacob Thornton, Ann-Marie Toler, and Sarah Welch.
Graduates were honored at a pinning ceremony in May. The “Outstanding Academic Award” went to Andrea Becker. “Outstanding Clinical Awards” went to Andrea Becker – Bluefield Campus and Megan Nichols – Beckley Campus. The “JRCERT Certificate of Excellence Awards” were presented to Jeff Cox – Beckley Campus and Jacob Thornton – Bluefield Campus.
The following students were inducted into the Lambda Nu National Honor Society for Radiologic Technologists: Andrea Becker, Amy Grindstaff, Kayla Lusk, Megan Nichols and Jacob Thornton.
Faculty include: Melissa Haye (program director), Angela Lambert (clinical coordinator), Vanessa Godfrey (didactic instructor), Robin Gibson (PCH Clinical Instructor), Richard Gibson (BRMC Clinical Instructor), Amy Bennett (BARH Clinical Instructor), and Jennifer Shelton (VA Clinical Instructor).
