Blue Chicory Players at BSC Present “The Treasure Box” April 15-17

(Bluefield)—The Blue Chicory Players will present “The Treasure Box,” April 15-17 in the Hebert Gallery, Harris-Jefferson Student Center, at Bluefield State College. The production is a collection of children’s poetry that highlights language play and the use of the imagination. Performances will be presented on April 15 & 16 at 10 a.m., with evening performances (7:30 p.m.) on April 16 & 17. There is no admission charge, with donations to the Blue Chicory Players welcomed.
The play was adapted by BSC faculty member Dr. Sharon Bebout-Carr and the BSC “Introduction to Theatre” class. It uses nursery rhymes, nonsense poetry, classic favorites and contemporary selections in a riotous, fast-moving production designed to appeal to the young and the young at heart, and it is appropriate for all ages.
Cast members for “The Treasure Box” include Daniel Caton, Laken Croy, James Hurt, Alex Ledgerwood, Erica Meade, Kevin Neese, and D.J. Shorter. The assistant director is Laura Vidinha.
